Re: @ bloc - earplugs?

I get bad tinnitus, so I tend to wear earplugs out. DONT use the ones staff wear - they just turn everything into a muffled "WHOOMF" sound, you lose all top and bottom into a sludge as they're just made of foam. Get her some of these quicksmart for under a tenner http://www.er20.co.uk/ - y...

Re: The eternal question (quest for righteousness)

The fry up in the Minehead Wetherspoons (AAAAGGGGHHHH!!!!!!) isn't bad. and the beer's dead cheap, innit.

Alternatively, buy ingredients from Tesco and make in kitchen (if you've paid for one...!)??

It's in the welcome pack in your chalet when you arrive, and on posters near all the venues in the big white tent thingumi.

"Check out" just means "hand key cards to woman at front desk". A couple years ago we handed in the key then went back and snoozed in the chalet til they kicked us out nearer 1pm...

Re: internet?

Last year I travelled down Thursday night, and "worked from home" in Butlins in the morning... The Butlins front desk staff had no knowledge of paid or free wifi onsite (though Bloc had said beforehand they thought there might be), and couldn't tried and failed to get a signal in any of th...

Re: Waterpark + Music suggestion

Having gone in at least twice the last two fests, they aren't strict AT ALL about who goes in (see: man wading fully dressed into the wave pool in 2009...), but there's no music in there. Generally when you peek in you can't see anyone as 90% of the people are queueing for the waterslides - the queu...

Re: London train to Taunton, Thursday eve?

It goes a very long route and takes well over an hour. 4x£6=24. 1xtaxi=£35-40. 35-40mins. SO! If anyone's on said train and fancies getting to butlins in comfort, style and with an element of speed... Remember that there's BRACKOUT til midnight - get the bus and you might only make the last couple h...

Re: Whats the Thursday night entertainment

If you come out of the butlins entrance by the sea and follow the beach aaaaaallllllll the way round going left (I can't remember how far it actually is, it was Sunday last year and I was fucking shattered - prob about 15mins?!) there's a nice little pub with good ales on tap right on the harbour. I...
