Post by james »

Saturday 31st July: WANG @ Fabric
We will be taking over Room 2 for the whole night
Abe Duque & Blake Baxter - LIVE
Bass Junkie - DJ Set
Posthuman - Live
Electro Elvis (WANG)
£10 entry for WANGers (see below)

Words cannot describe how excited we are to have Blake Baxter & Abe Duque playing live at WANG. Blake is a true Detroit legend, and the music he and Abe make together uniquely combine elements of classic old school US techno with upfront cutting edge Berlin style production. Their 2009 release 'Let's take it back' is Electro Elvis' top track of last year, and their 2004 classic 'What happened?' is a very funny look at the state of the global dance scene, echoing views we sometimes hold
We truly believe they are the best live techno act in the world right now, and have been at the top of our wishlist for sometime, so when we started talking to Fabric we just knew it had to be done.

Blake Baxter should need no introduction, one of the first wave of Detroit techno pioneers, he released ‘When we used to play’ way back in 1987 on Kevin Saunderson’s KMS records, also responsible for the 4th release on the legendary U.R. record label, the ‘Prince of Techno EP’, earned Blake the title he is still known by today. Over the years Blake has released many other seminal techno tracks, such as ‘Sexuality’ and ‘Brother’s gonna work it out’ (as sampled by the Chemical Brothers) usually featuring his trademark sex-laden vocals.
Abe Duque started out his career at the infamous New York Limelight nightclub in 1993, and has been at the forefront of Underground Techno and Acid House ever since. His productions combine ‘old school’ leanings with cutting edge production techniques, marrying the old and new style like no other producer working today.
Bass Junkie - DJ Set IMHO One of the best Electro DJs and producers in the world, the bass junkie leads the way where others fear to tread.
ELECTRO BASS ARMAGEDDON - Formed in 1996, Battle Trax brought forth a new identity in the electro sound with such guises as Battle Systems, Industrial Bass Machine, Cybernet Systems & Kronos Device. Earth as we know it soon tuned into these battle broadcasts as global turntable terrorists blasted this vinyl artillery through sound systems around the Galaxy.
Posthuman - Live The official album launch for Syn Emergence, their new album on Balkan Vinyl. Longtime WANG regulars in various different guises Posthuman's live show is always a killer.
Electro Elvis (WANG) Along with partner in crime Lula, Electro Elvis is the evil mastermind behind WANG. When not at the controls of the DJ mixer, he can usually be found cranking the mind-bending visuals up to dimension altering intensity.

In these budget conscious times we live in, we know a night out is never a cheap prospect, that's why we've managed to secure a £10 concessions guestlist for all you lovely WANGers. All you have to do is email back to wang@wanging.com with a list of your names, which will then get you £10 entry on the door at Fabric. You can't say fairer than that really.
BTW In Room 1, will be Marco Carola, Rhadoo, and Heartthrob -Live! Come find us in Room 2.

Sunday 1st August: WANG afterparty
We’re so excited about having Abe & Blake over from the USA, that one party just wasn’t enough, so we’re hosting a party on Sunday night at Dalston Superstore. Abe Duque & Blake Baxter will be performing an ultra-rare back2back DJ set. Only £5 on the door, 8pm-2am, a proper sweaty rave-cave for all the hard-core WANG heads.
As if that wasn't enough, DJ support will be provided by our good friend Andrew Weatherall, alongside Electro Elvis and Simon Busby.
If there’s a better reason to book a Monday of work we can’t think of it!

No retreat, no surrender!
