Boooooomshakalaka!

This time next week.........

It's been right interesting reading through these old threads. Especially all the stuff from Bloc saying they had outgrown Butlins at Minehead and all that guff, when in reality we all know they were asked not to come back. Never really understood the reasoning behind not being upfront about that.

Can't believe the last one was 4 years ago, seems crazy. You been to owt since? I went to the last 2 Beatherders which were ok, but no chalet vibe, and the last one was just full of disrespectful kids, having dirtiest campsite competitions. The problem is once you've had the Bloc experience it's hard to go back to a normal festival I find.

You doing fancy dress, if so what? I'll keep an eye out for you

I'm sort of doing the below, but with a shorts safari suit (make sense?) helmet, horn. I also have a big bushy beard and will be waxing my moustache something rotten!!

See you down the front (at the left)

Griff

Ha Ha! I have a good mate who'll be snapping to see your costume choice - he had the same idea. Might be a case of first one to blunderbuss the other... and I'm all for that of a trippy Sunday at Bloc.

I love me fancy dress but think I've gone down the lazy route this time - look out for a giant panda, but remember we're nearly extinct so keep that itchy trigger finger at bay.
It also has the distinct advantage of having a flap on the head which kinda reminds me of this piece of glory:

Been to very few festivals since the last Bloc man - 4 years you say? That doesn't really bear thinking about. But there was no chance I was missing this one. I wonder how the Minehead thing came up again actually though? If Butlins just thought it was too much bother in the past then why change their mind? Money no doubt.

Come on Jungle Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hahaha, sounds like a laugh. The best thing about my costume will be the horn I have, made from a genuine cow's horn. Bought it off eBay, expecting this collossal viking type noise to emit whence blown. Alas it sounds more like one of Joe Pasquale's farts!

Looking fwd to seeing the Panda/Donkey Rhubarb outfit.

Yeah same for me, couldn't miss this for the world. I'd kinda said to the missus I wouldn't be going to anymore weekend festivals after Beatherder last year (we have 2 young kids) but had to do a U-turn on that as soon as this was announced. Got the old crew back together and dusted off the cream whipper!

Gotta say, apart from the music I can't wait to see what Bloctv has in store this year. Always one of my highlights of the weekend. Die you Zombie Bastards in 2010 and Holy Mountain in 2011 broke my mind a bit

Listen mate, a good horn is a good horn regardless of the sound it makes.
And I feel like i have to add that it's only through some very wishful thinking on my part that my panda suit looks anything like donkey rhubarb. But a man's gotta have hopes and dreams.
As for Bloc tv, my main memory is watching Fela Kuti pimping it up in his white y fronts like the boss that he is. And some pretty rough porn...Or maybe I'm getting my memories mixed up. Wouldn't be the first time.
Anybody else out there to join us on a countdown to bloccage? I see ye's viewing the thread and not sharing, get involved!
Just heard there's a lazer quest At butlins. Dont remember anything of the sort. Is it new?

Looks like it's just you and me.

When you heading down? We're going Thursday, but may get there pretty late (10/11pm ish). So will miss most of the Brackout stuff. Bit of a bummer but can't be helped.

2 more sleeps. Yeah Bwoy! :boobs:

I know man, thought we'd a had some company but sure two's enough for a party!

We're flying in to Bristol on Thursday afternoon and then driving to Minehead - should be there about 4 or 5 or so. Get the bearings, grab a bite and go see some tunes - I can't wait at this stage - especially since the sun's been shining here. I'm getting flashbacks to Bloc Saturdays/Sundays of yore. Lazing outside the chalets with the sun in my drunken face. Cant beat it.

Just got news we're two men down in the chalet so thats kinda shit but there should be still a big enough crowd heading over from Ireland. Usually fairly well represented anyway.

2 more sleeps is right! Im working up a serious thirst too

Well then, Bloc at Minehead tomorrow :band:

Maybe I'll bump into you. Look out for a bald dude with a big old bushy, gingerish beard. Come and say hello if you do.

In the mean time LATERS!
