For some reason I thought this was pretty cool yeesterday but on reflection it is hardly as artistic as putting a piece up as throwing LEDs at a metal wall isn't exactly a thoughtful process..

Yeah...depends on what you do with 'em I guess.
It's much easier to write "Fuck You" in huge letters using paint or spraycans...as I proved on my home, yesterday:

The LED thing is kinda neat for novelty value, but it doesn't really have the permanence or as you said the artistic weight as a properly painted and designed piece of graffola. As demonstrated by Mr Megabytes outstanding piece of wordart.
