Cloverfield

Post by Kinder »

Anyone else seen it? I thought it was quite frankly brilliant, aside from the odd annoying newyorker, it certainly did the trick! I've heard that there's another film coming next year portraying the same events from another point of view...

I've only seen the trailer but it does look pretty intense. Is it all done from 1st person point on view on a hand held camera a la Blair Witch?

I watched a pirate copy taken with a camcorder in an 800x600 box streamed, so i actually sat through a whole film of camcorder footage of camcorder footage... I liked it, if i wasnt so skint i would watch it at the cinema BUT

The first fifteen minutes is really boring viewing of dickheads having a crap party which really drags on, the film takes a while to get going but its worth sticking with it.

Its a kind of science fiction thriller B-movie with varying pace, some good humour, well timed reveals and intence action bursts, oh and very clever camera work.

*****This is the opinion of a zombie movie and science fiction fan***** :D

I saw it last night. Went in with little to no expectiations, and i bloody well loved it. Awesome film, suprised the comcept hasnt been done before.
My only very minor complaint is that i wish it would have ended maybe 3 minutes earlier than it did.

GO SEE IT!

completely agree! Go see this film! I didn't expect much from it but really enjoyed it. I also really wish it had finished 3 minutes earlier.

Did anyone catch the bit in the last scene which gives a clue away about the monster's origins? I didn't see it at the time, but saw it on the net afterwards, I reckon there's loads of little extra bits hidden away throughout the film...
