UK hip hop league tables

Post by saul »

my friend tom briggs compiled this i thought it was pretty spot on thought all you folks would like to see it get us talking about the UK scene who we love who we hate!

UK Hip-Hop

They're all good. If they're not good, they're not on there. But this is rated in terms of worthy 'star status' or how high they should be on a billing (in my mind).
I've kept it to groups that I think are still doing stuff, not old school dudes.
It's pretty arbitrary but you gotta give it a shot.

(?) means I haven't actually heard their stuff but have heard good reviews.
* means I would make a special effort to see them cos I haven't seen them live yet and think they'd be good

Man oh man why oh why is blade in the championship hes pretty piss poor, the thing is as well you got so many different styles. like Lewis Parker though he may not be a great rapper is widely recognised as a brilliant producer. Skinnyman tho a bit predictable blantantly has a sick flow and should be further up,

Division 1 jus seems a bit full and would have a bit of a long season meaning everyones fucked by the time it his the summer.

Anyways Taskforce / Klashnekoff /Jehst and obviously Roots are probably the top dogs in notoriety, never been a fan of sway but each to his own, Ty is sick but is not quite premier and Black Twang not sure about.

Mystro is ok but not as good as Asavior and Pitman hes the fuckin legend. I think really he should be top or bottom not inbetween.

Jehst should be up at the top and black twang at the bottom. Just my opinion though.
