Things to do in Bristol

Post by garyd »

Right so,

We are flying into Bristol airport at 8am the Friday morning. It turns out the buses dont leave from the airport till 4pm(bit silly if you ask me) so we've got a few hours to kill and we are going to hit Bristol. Anything there to keep a few Bloc virgins interested for a few hours?

yeah maybe stagger the buses from lunch time onwards ,especially if theres people coming off a couple of flights ..it'll be bedlam trying to get a couple of hundred people onto buses @ 4 .. when everyone will be dying to get to the venue ...

I'm sure bloc will have a plan sussed out before that happens as the last two years have been organised pretty well :)

The buses leave Bristol, Temple Meads at 4pm.

They will be loaded one by one and each one will leave once it's full.

It's not rocket science!

They'll stop leaving once they're all loaded and departed.

They can't wait on stragglers surely.

6.30pm should be safe, right?

Would it not make sense to start the buses earlier considering the whole thing kicks off at 6 o clock on the Friday?

*sigh*

My friend bought two bus tickets from Bristol and we won't arrive their until 6.30. Should we try to sell the tickets and find another means of transport? Yes/No.

We're hiring rental cars at the airport like the last two blocs. Flight gets in around 2, 45mins mins mincing about, 1hr and 30mins drive down. Should get there around 4.30. Prob cost us £25 each max (including car juice).

Happys! :( :) :D

Ahh so the buses don't go from the airport...gotcha

Anyway...back to my original question. What is there to do in Bristol to kill a few hours?

I've heard there's a few local bridges, I'm sure they could be successfully admired for 8 hours

Yeah - the Severn Beach train from Temple Meads stops at Montpelier station. It takes about 10 mins and the station is about 5 mins to Gloucester Road. Plenty of cafes, bars, shops up there. Prince of Wales does good some food and beers/cider. Plus, it's right next to Rooted Records which is worth a browse if you get the chance

And further up on the left is a small brewers shop where you can stock up on jugs of cider...
