The UNKNOWN TO THE UNKNOWN SOUNDSYSTEM are taking over XOYO for a night of the most slammin’ true skool ‘electro & techno' vibes London has seen in many moons. Set up by Hot City’s DJ Haus and Mackaveli the UTTU Soundsystem have taken over clubs from Sven Vath’s legendary Cocoon to Mapping, Geneva and Ibiza.

For their first ever London showcase they have secured one of the most legendary music pioneers still alive on the planet; DOPPLEREFFEKT aka ‘The American Kraftwerk’ aka Heinrich Muller, the man responsible for some of the most futuristic electronic music ever made under the alias DREXCIYA (alongside James Stinson).

After this year’s much lauded live performance at BLOC festival and his critically acclaimed RA podcast, Dopplereffekt will be performing a UK exclusive set, bringing the timeless sounds to XOYO, arguably the coolest club in London right now.

The rest of the night will see Ali Renault (Heartbreak), Raf Daddy (2 Bears), Wifey DJs & Boomkat’s own techno powerhouse Faktion DJ take to the decks playing tribute to the sounds of 90s Techno, Electro and Chigago house.

After the session of stinging electro and Skweee'd cheek on the 1st session, 'Mystery Dragon' expands UTTU's unquantified remit into freshly banged Chicago styles, alloying Alias' liquored rants with the haughtiest jackers drums and earworming synths that'll irreversibly infest your hypothalamus. Applied to Slackk's haughty buck beat remix, Alias sounds even more slashed, hollering like your funny drunken uncle who just happened to be member of Ron Hardy's DJ booth crew. But, Slackk is firmly in control, distracting the lairy guest with a tribal swinging Ballroom slayer, kinda like Mike Q meets Green Velvet at an East London towerblock. "On Friday, June 3, Dopplereffekt play London’s XOYO. This is a big deal.

FACT Mag will be streaming the gig live, as the first in a series of collaborative streams with XOYO, where we hold our regular club night. Details of how to watch will be revealed nearer the time.

The work of Gerald Donald (one half of Drexciya with James Stinson, and known under various aliases, including Rudolf Klorzeiger, Heinrich Müller and Der Zyklus), Dopplereffekt represents one of electronic music’s most secretive and mythologized projects, with very few interviews in existence. With Dopplereffekt, the mythology – and the science – is as vital as the music. And he doesn’t play live often.

Unknown to the Unknown, the current baby of Hot City’s DJ Haus and Mackaveli, will be hosting the show, with support coming from an Unknown to the Unknown Soundsystem sporting the considerable collective talent of Ali Renault, DJ Haus, Raf Daddy, Slackk, Wifey DJs, Nightwave, Capracara and more."
